Thonet
Established in 1979 by Simon deWolf and Richard Daniell, Thonet imports and wholesale bentwood furniture from one of the last surviving factories. Once part of a larger group of Thonet factories dotted throughout Europe, this factory in Poland (once part of Prussia) still produces bentwood in the original manner using Beech timbers as it did when first developed by Michael Thonet. Over the years Thonet has expanded its range to incorporate other products specially selected to fill gaps in the commercial and hospitality sector, for example tables, soft furnishing and outdoor furniture, these all complete the original Thonet idea. Products include Aluminium and Polypropylene furniture from Spain - Amat-3, Galvanised metal furniture from france - Tolix, hardened aluminium furniture from the USA - Emeco. Together all these products form and association combining original pedigree and quality that have given Thonet a unique and well established reputation in the market place.
